Olivia, diagnosed at age 44 with stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer

Can you describe your experience with neoadjuvant therapy?
Honestly, the first chemotherapy regimen was not as bad as I thought. Besides the hair loss and low blood count, I coped well. The second regimen was more challenging, and I experienced more side effects as I received a higher drug dosage. But after my doctor adjusted the dose, the treatment went smoothly. A month after I finished my treatment, I had surgery to remove the breast tumour and three lymph nodes, then followed by radiotherapy.
What would you like to say to patients who are embarking on their neoadjuvant therapy journey?
Keep an open mind. At the same time, be clear about your priorities because there will be challenges during treatment that will create questions and doubts. You may wonder if you have made the right decisions about your treatment, so stay focused be open, and things will get better.
